Opposition leader María Corina Machado continued her tour of the country’s interior on Wednesday, visiting three towns in the state of Apure, despite the fact that government supporters blocked the bridge that connects Guárico with Apure.
Through social media, the ConVzla command announced the route of the opposition leader, who participated in an event in Achaguas, on Páez Street, on El Puente Avenue with Centauro, at 11:30 am.
Upon her arrival, Machado received the support of the inhabitants of Apure state, who took advantage of the trip in a canoe to talk with the opposition leader regarding the shortages they are experiencing in the state.
For his part, journalist Luis Gonzalo Pérez, a member of Machado’s press team, said that they were informed regarding the blockade of the María Nieves bridge by a group of supporters of the Maduro administration and officials of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), so they decided to take alternate routes.
In this sense, Machado had to embark on a “curiara”, a boat made by indigenous people, and navigate the river to reach the mainland and continue with his agenda.
It is expected that at 3:00 pm, he will go to San Juan de Payara, on Fuerzas Armadas Avenue and Bolívar Street, and then appear at approximately 4:30 pm at the extension of Colombia Street and Girardot, in San Fernando.
Despite the obstacles, María Corina Machado and part of her team continued their journey across the river that borders Amazonas aboard a curiara. “Until the end,” said the opposition member in a video posted on social media where she is seen crossing the river aboard the typical boat of the area.
The leader of Vente Venezuela (VV) continues her tour of the states of Venezuela, despite the persecution of the administration of Nicolás Maduro, to promote Edmundo González Urrutia as the candidate of the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD).
