In order to boost its economy and reputation, Saudi Arabia has started to grant citizenship to highly talented and exceptionally skilled professionals from around the world. Dr. Mehmood Khan, a well-known scientist who is a native of Pakistan, is among the recipients of Saudi citizenship under this program.
The Saudi government is attracting talent from around the world. One of the main objectives of this program launched under the title of Vision 2030 is to balance cultural and social diversity.
Eminent personalities from education and public health, sports, science and technology and arts are invited to submit applications for Saudi citizenship. In this regard, a royal decree was issued in November 2021.
According to Saudi news portal Argham, Dr. Mahmood Khan studied and received his certificate from the medical school of Liverpool University in England.
Dr. Mahmood Khan has served in many corporate organizations. He has been Vice Chairman of Global Research and Development and Chief Scientific Officer at PepsiCo. He also served as President of Global Research and Development Center at Takeda Pharmaceuticals.
“I grew up in England,” Dr. Mehmood Khan told OpenSilicon Valley. Never got the position of growing up in Pakistan. He said that I am proud to be a Pakistani.
