Along with this, the Student Festival that took place for the first time this year, in collaboration with the National Council once morest Drugs, with hundreds of students attending and sending a message once morest all drugs, proving that such actions and initiatives are needed by the people and our children.
But in these conditions where culture is a commodity – and with governments over time pushing even more its promotion as a product that is sold and bought, simultaneously degrading artistic education in schools, but also artistic education, the Municipal Authority of Patras, the Labor Center and the popular bodies of the city, know the need for free access to culture, expression through it, creation and the imprint it leaves on our consciousness, but also the interaction of art and society.
Especially in these conditions for workers, the self-employed, the unemployed and their families, art and culture can provide food for thought, inspire and make us better able to recognize reality so that we can change it according to our modern needs.
Many thanks to the Young Workers and Unemployed Shelter of Korydallos and its theater group, who with the performance “O Antriomenos” by Hall and Middlemas begin the journey of this institution, giving our city a show for workers, by workers. And because our workers and people know how to fight, but also how to sing, we hope that tomorrow’s evening with Vangelis Korakakis will give a breather to all of us, who all the previous time stood side by side in the struggles and claims of our people” .
