Some students do not need to wait for the results to know whether or not they have passed the brevet in 2024: the calculation of points for the brevet des collèges is based on a part of the continuous assessment and the final exams that you take in June. It is necessary to obtain at least 400/800 to obtain your diploma. Thus, if you have worked well enough during the year, you only had to go for a few points to obtain your brevet. Conversely, if your averages were already very low throughout the year (below 7) and you do not think you have particularly succeeded in the final exams, there is little chance that you have obtained the brevet.

However, this does not mean anything for the continuation of your studies. Indeed, the brevet is not necessary to move up to the second year of high school or to go to a general high school. You can study for a long time and have a very good situation without having the brevet, even if it is always more rewarding to obtain it. In 2023, the success rate reached 90.3% in the general series and 78.1% in the professional series, according to figures communicated by the Ministry of National Education.
