Spanish businessmen see Paraguay as having great opportunities to attract investment

Asuncion, IP Agency.- A delegation of Spanish businessmen from various sectors met this Tuesday with the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, to discuss investment opportunities in Paraguay. After the meeting, the founder and CEO of Puentia Comunicaciones, and organizer of the event, Recent Spanish business mission in ParaguayEduardo Álvarez shared his impressions of the country following four days of intense activities in Asunción and some departments of the country.

The representative of Spanish businessmen stressed, in a press conference with the Government Spokesperson, the importance of President Santiago Peña’s visit to Spain last February, which generated a wave of expectations and synergies with an agenda full of business meetings. “Moved by that visit, we always launched ourselves in collaboration with the excellent work that the embassy of his country in Spain has done,” he said.

He stressed that Paraguay is a window of opportunity for investments, as well as the hospitality and commitment of the Paraguayan government, led by President Santiago Peña, to strengthen bilateral relations and open new investment opportunities.

Álvarez also mentioned the generous dedication of time and listening by the Paraguayan hosts during the business mission, as well as the depth and positivity of the impressions received, which allowed them to better understand the vision and project of the country.

“We had a tremendous agenda, with meetings of an economic and financial nature, a very strong and determined approach to all administrations and to all types of organizations,” said the CEO of Puentia.

The delegation included representatives from Netpharma Hub, Europe’s first pharmaceutical hub based in Madrid; Livall Europa and Halotec Digital Services from the technology sector; Barlovento Comunicación, a consulting firm in audiovisual communication; Velamar SL, with interests in water processing and purification; and Hyperion Fund FCR, a defense fund focused on green energy and hydrogen. In addition, the mission explored the potential of medicinal cannabis in the Paraguayan market.

During the mission, the foreign businessmen traveled more than 900 kilometers, including visits to the departments of Alto Paraná, Misiones, Itapúa and Central, obtaining a deep and authentic vision of the country.

Álvarez expressed his conviction that investments will be made in the medium term, and that the shared experience will attract more Spanish entrepreneurs. “With the image of opportunity and the image of the country that these entrepreneurs take with them, there will be many other Spanish entrepreneurs who want to come to Paraguay, to get to know their country, in order to be able to invest based on knowledge,” he concluded.

This mission represents a significant step forward in the intention to continue promoting Paraguay internationally, reflecting the Paraguayan government’s efforts to take advantage of the current window of opportunity to attract investments and strengthen the country’s economy.
