President Maduro visited affected areas in Cumanacoa

The president and candidate for re-election, Nicolas Madurovisited on Tuesday the areas affected by the heavy rains recorded in Cumanacoa, Sucre state.

“Cumanacoa and the Montes municipality will be reborn. The first thing was to address the emergency, conduct the census, address the needs, get the teams to arrive, and now we are going to recover everything, house by house. This has to be a special recovery plan,” he said.

He emphasized that the M/G Nayade Lockiby Belmonte, the Sole Authority of Cumanacoa, has all the authority to lead the recovery work in this town and therefore urged to accelerate the clean-up and reconstruction plans.

“We will overcome this. There are many things to do at this stage, which is the stage of cleaning, recovery, regularization, to move immediately to the reconstruction and construction phase.”

The president said that all state agencies are working together to assist and support families who have lost their homes.

He also said that through the one million dollar fund created this week, support will be provided to merchants in the state. He also ordered a deployment of identification and other procedures for those who lost their documents.

He said that the water service is being restored because the intakes are completely destroyed. The Executive ordered the duplication of machinery and personnel to rebuild Cumanacoa.
