Faisalabad: Laptop battery burst fire, two children died

Faisalabad Between Tuesday and Wednesday night, a house caught fire following a laptop exploded, resulting in nine people suffering burns, including two children, who died in hospital.

Faisal, spokesperson of Rescue 1122 Faisalabad, said that nine people of the house were sleeping in the same room and according to preliminary information, one of them was using a laptop. was doing which suddenly exploded and the room caught fire.’

According to the spokesperson: ‘Either the laptop overheated or overcharging might also cause the explosion.’

He added that Rescue 1122 quickly responded and extinguished the fire in the house and shifted nine injured people, including three women, two men, two girls and two children, to Allied Hospital.

The management of Allied Hospital told Independent Urdu that nine burn victims were brought to the hospital’s emergency room late at night.

According to the administration: “The bodies of the injured who came to the hospital had burns ranging from 35 to 70 percent, while two of them, aged five and nine years, succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.”

The hospital administration said that the rest of the injured have been shifted to the burn unit of the hospital where they are being provided with the best treatment facilities.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has also expressed regret over the death of children who lost their lives due to burns in Faisalabad, while also issuing instructions to provide the best medical facilities for the treatment of the injured.
