Leticia Ocampos will participate in the Second Annual Global Academy of First Ladies as its organizer

Asuncion, IP Agency.- Paraguay’s First Lady, Leticia Ocampos, as president of the Alliance of Spouses of Heads of State and Representatives of Latin America (ALMA), will participate in the Second Annual Global Academy for First Ladies, which will take place from Wednesday 10 to Friday 12, at the Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice in New York City. This event includes certified executive leadership training in health and development.

This Second Annual Global First Ladies Academy is organized by the Global First Ladies Alliance (GFLA), the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, in collaboration with the First Lady of Paraguay, Leticia Ocampos, who is the President of the Alliance of Spouses of Heads of State and Representatives of Latin America (ALMA), with the support of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), the CARICOM Leaders Action Network (SCLAN) and the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen.

The Paraguayan First Lady plays a fundamental role in the organization of this academy, as she seeks to positively impact and generate favorable conditions for Paraguay through this initiative with the exchange of experiences and global strategies.

The academy will bring together 20 First Ladies from around the world to discuss current trends, critical research and sustainable evidence-based approaches to promoting health and development in their respective countries and regions.

The program will address a range of critical issues, including chronic and communicable disease management, maternal and child health, climate change, health systems, mental health, and gender gaps in access to seed capital.

Since its founding in 2009, the GFLA has worked with more than seventy First Ladies, including such prominent figures as Laura Bush, Rosalynn Carter, Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Sarah Brown and Cherie Blair. Created at the request of the First Ladies, this academy draws on the accumulated experience and close collaboration with these exceptional leaders.

Leticia Ocampos’ participation underlines Paraguay’s commitment to promoting public health and sustainable development, reinforcing its position on the global stage.
