Fresh back from a controversial trip to Moscow, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán may now be on his way to Beijing, a Hungarian media website reported. But the government did not confirm this information. Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Hungary in May.

According to the Hungarian news portal 444.hu, the tracking pages showed that a Dassault Falcon 7X Hungarian military government plane – a plane often used to transport the prime minister – was en route from Budapest to Beijing.

In recent days, EU leaders have sharply criticized Orbán’s trip to Moscow and distanced themselves from it, also because Hungary is the current EU presidency country. Both the Union and Ukraine emphasized that he was not acting on their behalf.

The Hungarian Prime Minister described the negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin as an effort to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. (Free Europe)
