Norbert Trawöger becomes artistic director of the Danube Festival in Strudengau

He doesn’t want to “change anything regarding the concept of the series for early music with modern counterpoints, just keep the spirit,” says the artistic director of the Bruckner Orchestra Linz and artistic director of the “Kulturexpo Anton Bruckner 2024”, who as a flautist has also devoted himself intensively to early music. “It used to be very central to me,” says the 53-year-old.

“I am delighted to be able to hand over this treasure chest to you,” said Michi Gaigg yesterday, handing over the reins to new hands following “22 wonderful and fulfilling years.” As she left, the Schörflinger conductor, violinist, founder and director of the L’Orfeo Baroque Orchestra thanked her entire Greiner team, led by Walter Edtbauer, President of the Donauland-Strudengau Cultural Forum.

The Danube Festival Weeks in Strudengau will be opened on July 26th by “The Wave Quartet” with “Baroque to Tango”, the keynote speech will be given by the writer Andrea Winkler. This time the opera centerpiece at the Greinburg is Joseph Haydn’s “The Desert Island” (August 3rd to 11th).
