A six-year-old girl who was found unconscious in a forest in Switzerland yesterday following disappearing under unknown circumstances while playing at a family party has died today, police said.
“The six-year-old girl was transported in critical condition to the CHUV (University Hospital of Vaux) in Lausanne by helicopter, and unfortunately died” this morning, Valais canton police said.
The police were informed yesterday Sunday at 5:54 pm regarding the disappearance of the little girl who was at a family party in the Ravoire area.
The girl was playing at the party and was not seen from 5pm onwards. The cantonment police, in collaboration with numerous agencies and aid units, the air force and more than 200 volunteers, launched a major search operation.

On Sunday night, at 21:20, the search was extended to the forest, located not far from the place where the party took place, and there the little girl was found unconscious.
The cantonal prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation to establish the exact circumstances of the incident. Authorities are not releasing additional information at this time.
