Municipal team drops two players from its tour of the USA due to indiscipline
Guatemalan soccer champion CSD Municipal announced that two players from its squad committed acts of indiscipline and were removed from the training camp in the United States.

CSD Municipal, the current Guatemalan soccer champion, announced on Tuesday, July 9, that two of its players will be separated from the squad that is in the United States as part of a preseason tour ahead of the Apertura 2024 where they will defend the crown they won once morest Mixco in the Clausura 2024.
The two players who are being removed from the rest of the team are John Méndez and Rony Barrera, who according to the team’s statement committed acts of indiscipline that “contravene” the club’s internal regulations.
“After committing acts of indiscipline that contravene the internal regulations of the Municipal CSD, the footballers John Mendez and Rony Barrera have been separated from the squad that is touring the United States,” says the statement published on the official X account of the red club.
In addition, CSD Municipal also reported that both players will return to Guatemala on Wednesday, July 10.
According to the team, the Board of Directors will be informed of the disciplinary infractions of its two players and will analyze the sanctions they consider pertinent.
While it is being determined what will happen to both of them, for John Méndez this is the second wake-up call since a few weeks ago he was seen in the United States playing amateur matches and went so far as to apologize for that.
For now, the rest of the scarlet team will continue in North America to prepare for their debut in the 2024 Apertura Tournament.
The debut next season for the current champions will be On Saturday, August 3 at 3 p.m. once morest Deportivo Mixco.
