If Sarwendah Absents Another Trial, Court Can Decide on Default Divorce

Jakarta

During the first divorce hearing between Ruben Onsu and Sarwendah at the South Jakarta District Court today, both parties were absent. Sarwendah, as the defendant, did not send a representative.

Ruben Onsu was represented by his lawyer, Raga Ginting. If Sarwendah does not attend the second summons, the judges may proceed to decide on the divorce for the couple who got married in 2013.

“Regarding her presence, it is the defendant’s right. If she fails to attend the second summons, the judges will make a decision in her absence or by default,” said Tumpanuli Marbun, the Public Relations of the South Jakarta District Court, to reporters on Tuesday (9/7/2024).
