This new edition will be the fourth and features the work of the 23 American corporationsSpain, the Philippines and Equatorial Guinea, which make up the Association of Spanish Language Academies (ASALE).
Santiago Muñoz Machado, director of the RAE and president of ASALE, explained that the presentation of the 568-page work is a group of works that analyze common problemssuch as those concerning grammatical variation in the Hispanic world.

Others, the most abundant, consider the adventures of the language in relation to more specific communities or geographic spaces, for example, the development of Spanish in the United States, the History of this language in Morocco or the long march of Judeo-Spanish, adds Muñoz Machado.
Many participants have chosen analysis on the consequences of the Linguistic contacts with Portuguese, English or some of the indigenous languagesespecially in States where they maintain a strong validity of native languages:
- The Guarani
- Indo-Antilleanisms
- Mayan languages
- Caribbean languages
- The languages of the Andean space
- Multilingualism in Mexico
The reader of the Chronicle will also be able to find in this volume articles on the American ballad and the influence of mestizaje in translation, travel books, early mestizo classics, and literary traditions.
