O Secretary General of EOT, Dimitris Fragakis signed Greece’s participation in Mastercard Tourism Innovation Hub on its margin ITB Berlin 2024.
THE Greek Tourism Organisation recognizing the contemporary need to change towards an innovative sustainable model in the tourism industry but also participating in the transition to the digital economy, further deepens the collaboration with Mastercard in order to highlight the comparative advantages of Greece, the steps taken towards sustainable tourism development and the contribution of tourism to social cohesion.
Mastercard Tourism Innovation Hub
H Mastercard created it Tourism Innovation Huban international Innovation Center for Tourism, based in Madrid. In just its first year of operation, it has collaborated with governments, public and private entities from all over the world, such as Spain, Croatia, Costa Rica and others, using Mastercard’s own know-how and data insights, with the aim of development of a new sustainable business model for the benefit of all involved in the tourism industry.
After signing the agreement the General Secretary of the EOT, Dimitris Fragakis stated: “With the signing of the agreement for EOT’s participation in Tourism Innovation Hub of Mastercard, we are taking a decisive step to strengthen our country’s innovation in the field of tourism. By joining this network, which includes important global destinations, we gain a strong advantage in the international environment for the benefit of everyone involved in the tourism industry, so I want to thank Mastercard and its executives for the trust!”
He signed the participation in the Mastercard Tourism Innovation Hub the General Secretary of the EOT Dimitris Fragakis and Senior Vice President, Public Sector APEMEA, Solveig Hatton.
In her statement, the Senior Vice President, Public Sector APEMEA, Solveig Hatton stated: «At Mastercard we believe that collaboration between the private and public sectors is essential to drive innovation. It is our great pleasure to welcome EOT as a member of the Tourism Innovation Hub and we look forward to leveraging our technological excellence and Mastercard’s data insights to support EOT’s work to shape a more sustainable and inclusive tourism industry».
