A different Virginijus Sinkevičius: a difficult childhood on the street and a panic attack before the most important day

In the program series “European Home Club” created by the Representation of the European Commission in Lithuania and LT Big Brother, viewers can expect five special interviews with Lithuanian and European leaders, public figures – Gitana Nausėda, Ingrida Šimonyte, Viktorija Čmilyte-Nielsen, Virginijs Sinkevičius and Marijon Mikutavičius.

This project is special in that it seeks to reveal the human side of leaders – personal experiences, painful experiences and memorable events in childhood and youth.

The first president to visit the show, G. Nausėda, did not only tell regarding personal experiences and experiences, but also showed that he can sing. The second participant of the show, Prime Minister I. Šimonytė, revealed what challenges awaited her in the chair of the Prime Minister.

V. Sinkevičius, the third European Commissioner who visited the village, told regarding his short life path, which led him from his childhood spent in the courtyards of Šeškinės district of Vilnius to the offices of the European Commission very quickly.

The insulting words of the teacher were remembered for life

V. Sinkevičius grew up in the not at all prestigious Šeškinės district of Vilnius. He and his sister were raised by their mother, who worked as a nurse. So I had to do everything myself.

V. Sinkevičius recalled in the show that he wanted to be independent from a very early age and he aspired to it.

According to him, when in Šeškinė it was necessary to choose a gymnasium following primary school, the whole class went to a nearby school, and he was the only one who decided to go to the then prestigious Salomejas Nėries gymnasium. Then the teacher called him to talk.
