The students of the 5th GEL of Patras created their own e-book for the Patrinos Carnival

The students of the 5th GEL created their own e-book regarding the Patrinos Carnival, choosing to “tell” their own story regarding their place by talking regarding the Patrinos Carnival with the help of technology.

The Patron Carnival inspired the students of the school and the result of their love for the great institution of Patras resulted in a unique digital narrative, a journey through time and the great moments-stations of its history.

The archival material with photographs provided by KEDIP-Patras Carnival was used in the presentation of the school at the 2nd Panhellenic Student Congress of Local History with the theme “Come and let me talk to you regarding my place”, held at the Experimental High School of the University of Patras from 18 until April 20, 2024. Through this presentation the e-book was born.

The students participated in the writing: Maria Aichmalotidis, Varvatsoulis Vasiliki, Vgenopoulou Theodora, Galanou Aspasia, Grammatikopoulou Theodora, Katsantoni Athena, Kontogiannatou Artemis, Mitropoulou Dimitra, Berdeni Nicoleta, Panagiotopoulou Katerina, Sotiropoulou Marianna, Tzani Kalomira.
Supervisor: Eleni Saloustrou (PE04.04). Associate Teachers: Davanou Vasiliki (PE03-PE86), Pantazopoulou Eleni (PE03).

394 General and Special Education school units from Greece and abroad participated in the National Thematic Network of Cultural Education, which collaborated for the implementation of the Local History Conference with the theme “Let me talk to you regarding my place”.

The school units prepared research papers, creative writing projects, visual arts, events, digital narratives, musical productions, experiential workshops, on the following subsections of the main subject:

a) Local history and traditional local customs

b) Monuments and archaeological sites

c) Local Literature/ Writers connected to the place

d) Arts and architecture

e) Local peculiarity: natural and man-made environment

f) Economic life/ commercial activity

g) Prominent features of the place.
