Roadblocks in Zurich due to Swift concerts

Already on Monday morning, hundreds of mostly female “Swifties” lined up on Zurich’s Turbinenplatz for merchandising items. From August 8th to 10th, the superstar will be performing three concerts at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium.

Exclusion zone will be expanded

The city of Zurich began closing streets on Sunday because of the two Swift concerts. Baslerstrasse and Herdernstrasse near Letzigrund will be closed until following the concerts. The exclusion zone will be extended on the two concert days. On Monday, numerous fans were still looking for last-minute tickets on the social media platform X. Last year, the official advance sales for the two concerts in the Letzigrund Stadium ended following just 30 minutes. Both concerts sold out in record time.

“Earthquake” at concerts

The hype surrounding the former country singer, whose influence on the masses even worries US presidential candidate Donald Trump and who measurably makes the earth shake during her performances, is explored in the documentary “The True Story of Taylor Swift”, which ORF 1 will show on July 17 at 9 p.m. According to ORF, it provides “insights into the successful life of the mega-singer and shows what lies behind her enormous success”.
