The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, asked the Public Ministry (MP) this Friday to open an investigation following the revelation made by the Colombian paramilitary group, called The Conquering Self-Defense Forces of the Sierra, who denounce that “they were contacted by the Venezuelan extreme right, to bring in regarding a thousand men and generate violence in the border states, attack the electrical service and when they cry fraud on July 28, start to generate the sensation of a civil war in Venezuela”.
In this regard, Maduro asked the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, to take over the investigation. “It is very serious (the information) that the intelligence chiefs, police chiefs, military chiefs send me, they send it to me from Colombia.”
In this sense, he confirmed to the people that “we are in a battle for the right to peace” and that “no one is going to embarrass Venezuela.”
The Conquering Self-Defense Forces of the Sierra denounced to public, national and international opinion that their units in the department of La Guajira have been contacted by far-right groups in Venezuela, to destabilize the government of the Republic of Venezuela.
They made the information known through a statement published on their social networks where they explained that the interlocutors have made all types of requests, including, “attacking the electrical infrastructure, acting once morest the presidential candidate Nicolás Maduro, acting in case “that he will be re-elected by infiltrating protests and generating chaos in the streets.”
In this regard, the Conquistadoras Self-Defense Forces of the Sierra stated that: “Our organization does not get involved in the internal affairs of other countries, that our organization must and has the purpose of maintaining order in the Sierra Nevada, we will contact the diplomatic authorities of Venezuela to disclose details of the information disclosed.”
