According to police, the 31-year-old was standing next to the control box of the ride on Sunday evening, which rotates in a circle from top to bottom during the ride. The man had climbed onto the frame while the ride was running in order to remove a shoe that one of the passengers had lost.
The 31-year-old was hit by the carousel and trapped between the ground and the chassis. After operations were stopped, first responders freed the man. He was resuscitated on site and taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died there a short time later from his injuries.
