With a large participation of people from many regions, the “Celebration” prepared by the Cultural Association of Gomostou celebrating the 10 years since its establishment took place yesterday. A highly traditional evening, co-organized by the Municipality of Western Achaia and the Region of Western Greece, reminded the older ones and taught the younger ones customs, manners, lyrics, music and in general the tradition of the place, which was “fermented” over the centuries with the element of Arvanite spirit and culture.
During his greeting, the Mayor of Western Achaia, Grigoris Alexopoulos, gave credit to the Board of Directors. of the Association for the flawless organization, to the dance departments for their participation and their love for the continuation of our tradition as well as to the orchestra, which accompanied the event, for its excellent presence. “It is our honor to have fellow citizens who pass on our morals and customs to the younger generations. I wish you to continue with the same zeal to offer culture and we will be helpful in all your efforts”, stressed Mr. Alexopoulos.
It should be mentioned that the dance sections of the Cultural Associations of Gomostos, Sagaiki, Agyia-Terpsithea and the Folklore Club of Kefalonia “Kefallines” participated. While in the orchestra were Thodoris Tasoulas on Clarinet, Stavroula Daliani on vocals, Dimitris Karahalios on vocals, Eleni Papaprokopiou on Luto, Nikos Milas on violin, Giorgos Barakos on Percussion and Christos Kammenos.
Finally, also present were the President of the Municipal Council of Western Achaia Penelope Panagiotopoulos, the Deputy Mayors of the Municipality of Western Achaia Nadia Askounis, Konstantinos Kyriakopoulos, Vassilis Karvouniaris, Giorgos Veskoukis, Tasos Verropoulos, the Municipal Councilor of Western Achaia Ioannis Thanasoulias, President i Local Communities and Cultural Associations and a crowd of people.
