Antalya attracts more than 6 million foreign tourists in 6 months

Turkey – The number of foreign tourists arriving in the Turkish province of Antalya during the first six months of this year reached 6 million and 200 thousand foreign tourists, while the number of tourists arriving from Romania increased by 15 percent.

After the Turkish authorities exempted Romanian citizens from visas, it had a positive impact on the number of tourists coming from this country. By the end of last May, 90 thousand Romanians spent their holidays in Antalya, an increase of 15 percent compared to the same period last year.

The head of the Professional Hotel Managers Association, Hakan Saatcıoğlu, told Anadolu Agency that tourism activity is continuing and that there is a 10 percent increase from Russia and Germany, 25 percent from the United Kingdom, and 28 percent from Poland.

Saatcıoğlu pointed out that 6 million and 200 thousand foreign tourists came to Antalya during a six-month period of this year, describing it as a “great success.”

He expected the number of tourists coming to Antalya to reach 18 million by the end of this year.
