Labor Center of Patras: On the side of the workers of “Merimna” – 2024-07-08 07:00:17

The Labor Center of Patras supports the mobilization of the workers of the therapeutic center “I MERIMNA” and their Union, who decided to go on a 48th strike on Monday 8/7/2024 and Tuesday 9/7/2024 with the aim of escalating further with repeated 48-hour strikes strikes on 15 and 16/7/2024, on 22 and 23/7/2024 and on 29 and 30/7/2024, claiming their accruals, as their salary is not consistently paid, as a result of which the money of the two last months.

An announcement states:

The Labor Center of Patras, together with the workers’ union, the Sectoral Union of Private Health Workers and the Municipal Authority of Patras have repeatedly intervened both in the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family and in the Region of Western Greece regarding the issues of both the specific Foundation and all of them as a whole .

The Government and the Region do not give a damn regarding the workers, regarding the needs of disabled children and their families, since for them the payment of accrued wages and the provision of the necessary services once once more enter the scale of the cost benefit. The chronic obsolescence of this particular structure as well as of all welfare structures of the country has the sole purpose of opening the road to their privatization, paving the way for business groups to make more profits at the expense of the people.

The Labor Center of Patras, together with the unions, stands by the colleagues of the T.P.K. “THE CARE” and supports their decision for repeated 48-hour strikes, once morest their attempts at terrorism, demanding public and universally free public health and welfare structures for the people, for permanent state funding that covers 100% all the needs of welfare institutions area with fixed payment of salaries, allowances and gifts without delays and ” once morest” as well as recruitment of permanent staff of all specialties according to the needs of each institution, with full working rights.
Government and Region to assume their responsibilities! We will not stop until the workers get justice!
