Venezuela signs phytosanitary protocols to export cocoa to China

The Minister for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, reported this Tuesday that Venezuela and China signed the protocols of phytosanitary requirements for the export of cocoa to the Asian nation.

This was announced by the minister through his account on the social network “This policy ratifies the confidence of the cocoa productive sector in the president @NicolasMaduro”

The signing of these protocols is part of the agricultural cooperation that China carries out to deepen exchanges in areas of trade, investment, science, technology and training in the countryside and the reduction of poverty in rural areas.

This Tuesday Castro Soteldo met with the authorities of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, headed by its vice minister, Ma Youxiang, who ratified the willingness to expand commercial exchange with Venezuela.

“I hope that more Venezuelan products are in China, we need many products, we are going to talk to customs agents to accelerate matters related to exports from Venezuela,” said Ma Youxiang.

That meeting was held regarding Venezuela’s participation in the III Forum of Ministers of Agriculture China-Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), which takes place in Shandong province.

In this regard, Castro Soteldo said that Venezuela’s participation in the Forum will give new impetus to binational cooperation in agriculture. He said that both countries maintain a good relationship and that the results of the dialogue have been “perfected.”

Eastern Economic Zone

On Monday, the signing of a memorandum of cooperation and strengthening of the Special Agri-Food Economic Zone of Eastern Venezuela (ZEEAO) with Shandong province.

The agreement establishes a platform for exchanges between companies, organizations and institutions of Shandong and the states of Anzoátegui, Bolívar, Delta Amacuro, Guárico, Monagas and Sucre, with the aim of strengthening exchanges “even more”.
