Through a statement, retired military personnel who make up the Military Institutional Front (FIM) asked the members of the National Armed Forces to take care of the vote of Venezuelans on July 28.
In his writing, The group invited active members to ensure voter participationin a process that they hope will develop in a clean manner.
“We announce our willingness to participate with diligence and commitment throughout the electoral process to be carried out during the month of July 2024 (…) We will be present and diligent in the electoral centers where it corresponds to us, in the preparation and execution of the activities to make this electoral activity a feast where hard work and happiness will be combined for the results we will obtain”the statement said.
According to the FIM members, Venezuela is going through one of the “biggest dilemmas in its recent history”.
“We must demand that we take on the difficult tasks of taking care of the vote at the polling stations, with our presence and with our witness, so that the votes at our table are counted and the results issued scrupulously and severely, in order to avoid malicious deviations by individuals interested in the debacle continuing, and with our support, once the act is concluded, to enforce the resolution of that people in search of the desired change.”the group followed.
