CHICAGO, United States (AP) — A teenager has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 7-year-old boy who was not the intended target, police said.

“It’s unfortunate that a 7-year-old child, the son of a mother and father who are doing what they’re supposed to be doing, raising him, can’t even step onto the sidewalk without being hit by random gunfire,” Snelling said.
