Russia strikes energy infrastructure in Sumy region

“These are 348 settlements (Akhtyrka district and part of Sumy). Also, some consumers in the city of Sumy are temporarily without electricity,” the post specifies. “Power engineering teams are working to restore the distribution of electricity to each home.”

According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration (SRA), on the morning of July 6, the Russian Armed Forces carried out 9 attacks on border areas and populated areas of the region: “22 explosions were recorded. The Khotyn, Belopol, Esman, and Shalygin communities were subjected to attacks.”

139 clashes per day

Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine indicates in its operational report that 139 combat clashes occurred on the front in 24 hours.

“According to updated information, yesterday (July 5 – Ed.) the aggressor launched six missile strikes (using twelve missiles), 55 air strikes (using 72 KABs) on the positions of our troops and populated areas, and carried out more than three thousand attacks, 105 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on its Facebook page. The post shows that on the night of July 6, the Russian Armed Forces also launched strikes on Ukrainian targets using 27 Shahed UAVs. The attacks were carried out from the territory of Crimea annexed by the Russian Federation and from the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

It is indicated that Ukrainian air defense forces managed to shoot down 24 drones in the Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Zaporizhia, Kherson, Kharkov, Donetsk, Sumy, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Kirovograd and Nikolaev regions.

For its part, the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that following the artillery shelling of the Russian Armed Forces in the Berislav district of the Kherson region of Ukraine, rescuers discovered the bodies of a man and a woman under the rubble of a private house.
