India-Pakistan match shifted to reserve day due to rain

In the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup, the important match between Pakistan and India was postponed due to continuous rain and the ground field was damaged and shifted to the reserve day. In this ongoing match in Colombo, Pakistan won the toss and invited India to bat first.

In the first 16 overs of the match, Pakistani bowlers might not take any wicket and Indian opener Rohit Sharma and Shibman Gul shared a partnership of 121 runs.

The century partnership established between the two Indian openers was broken by spin bowler Shadab Khan in 16.4 overs.

Shadab Khan took India’s first wicket on 121 runs, he caught Rohit Sharma out on 56 runs.

In the very next over, Shaheen Afridi dismissed India’s second opener Shamban Gill for 123 runs, he was caught out for 58 runs.

When the game was stopped due to rain, by that time India had scored 147 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 24.1 overs. Virat Kohli with 8 and KL Rahul with 17 runs are on the carries.

Earlier, on the occasion of the toss, the captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Babar Azam, said that the bowling decision is made following seeing the pitch, our team is playing very well, they will try to win the match. Babar Azam added that the players are in form and play every match as a new one.

On this occasion, Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma said that it doesn’t matter if we bat or bowl first, we have to perform well. Rohit Sharma added that we wanted to bat first, will try to score maximum runs, every match in Asia Cup is important for us.
