Construction of the Gran Hospital del Sur is progressing, which will provide coverage to more than 1,000,000 inhabitants

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The works of the Gran Hospital del Sur in the department of Itapúa, reached 89.47% of general physical progress. This modern infrastructure is intended to provide first-class health services and aims to cover more than 1,000,000 inhabitants, not only in the department, but also in surrounding areas.

The construction is promoted by the government, through the Ministry of Public Works and Communications, and was designed in compliance with the hospital design recommendations specified in the Current Regulations on Hospital Architecture of the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare.

The new health centre is located on a plot of land near the Porã stream, in the district of Encarnación, and has a land area of ​​over 40,000 square metres.

It will have 232 beds, including intensive care units for adults and children. The Emergency Services are also divided into maternal and child care, surgery and trauma, independently according to each type.

It will also have a helipad for air transport of patients if necessary.

The building is being built to high quality standards, including an air conditioning system that complies with the regulations of the National Institute of Technology and Standardization and the Paraguayan Chamber of Refrigeration.

This contract covers different elements based on the minimum parameters to be met for its design and construction. It also includes components such as parking (10,000 m²), landscaping, recreation, effluent treatment plant, oxygen generating plant and others.

The company in charge, with an investment of G. 209,994,116,609, is the Southern Hospital Consortium, made up of the Chaco SA Construction Company (Barrail Hermanos SA de Construcciones, EISA and Ricardo Díaz Martínez).
