Which two famous actresses refused to dance while singing?

The song ‘Chal Chhian Chhian’ from Shahrukh Khan’s famous film Dil Se is still popular today. In an interview regarding the song with lyrics by AR Rahman, choreographer and director Farah Khan revealed that several actresses, including Raveena Tandon and Shilpa Shetty, were offered to dance in the song but all of them declined.

In this song, Malaika Arora gained immense fame by performing with Shah Rukh Khan on top of a moving train. No song has been recorded like this once more till date.

According to the website Pinkwella, Farah revealed during an event that ‘every heroine refused to do this song so I say you have to be in the right place at the right time.’

Farah also revealed how Malaika was roped in for the song. He said that no one knew that Malaika was a model. ‘I knew him because we knew Arbaaz Khan. Then the two of them had to get together, I didn’t even know she might dance.’

Earlier in an interview to IANS, Farah Khan had said that everyone says that I introduced Deepika Padukone to Bollywood, but not because I introduced Malaika before her.

‘He is my first child. Two days before the shooting of the song, I called Malaika to do this song. Before this we had contacted six to seven heroines but nothing happened. We were thinking regarding who to choose for this song.’

He said: ‘Then Mickey Contractor told me that Malaika is a very good dancer. I said she is a model.’

According to Farah, she wondered how Malaika would be able to do Indian dance, so I invited her to Ooty (Indian city) two days ago and we rehearsed at night, and shot during the day.

The director and producer of Om Shanti Om also said that Malaika was shivering on top of the train.

‘We forced them to board the train. She was shivering. There was almost no security, nothing. She wore no make-up, just mascara and a tattoo done by Geeta (Kapoor) on her arms. And yes, Shah Rukh was with them.’
