England avoided a European Championship fiasco.
Trent Alexander-Arnold settled the penalty shootout once morest Switzerland to send England to the semi-finals.
– We all know what happened last time when there were penalties for us in an EC, I am so proud of the team, says Bukayo Saka in SVT’s broadcast.

Jordan Pickford saved Manuel Akanji’s penalty in the first round and in the fifth Trent Alexander-Arnold was able to decide.
– It was very special. How we fought back and that there were penalties. We all know what happened the last time there were penalties for us in an EC. I am so proud of the team that we made it, says Bukayo Saka in SVT’s broadcast.
Saka’s Revenge
One of the greatest heroes was precisely Saka. He equalized at the end of the second half and was ice cold in the penalty shootout.
A big revenge for the EC final once morest Italy three years ago. Then he missed the decisive penalty and was forced to endure a storm of hate on social media, a large part of which was racist.
– Coming back from something like that was difficult, but I used it to make myself stronger. Today I took the chance so I’m happy, he says.

Early cold shower
The match was long drawn out but once it got going, it really got going. It started with an English cold shower in the 75th minute.
A fine Swiss attack resulted in Dan Ndoye hitting a cross which was headed via John Stones and on to Breel Embolo who made it 1–0.
Then and there, England was out of the European Championship with one leg, but five minutes later it narrowed.
Prince William cheered
Bukayo Saka cut in from the right and got the ball in with a hard and well-placed shot near Yann Sommer’s far post to make it 1-1. Something that made the English supporters in place, including Prince William, shout out their joy.

At the end of the second quarter of extra time, Xherdan Shaqiri was regarding to become a Swiss hero when he tipped the crossbar with a corner. Switzerland had several chances following that but the match went to penalties.
In England’s semi-finals, the winner Netherlands, who defeated Turkey, awaits.
