Asuncion, IP Agency.-The authorities of the National Sports Secretariat (SND) and the National Youth Secretariat (SNJ) led the meeting to promote the 2024 Paraguay University Games (JUPY) before the rectors of national and private universities throughout the country, to make a sports celebration.
The competition is expected to bring together more than 10,000 young people from 55 public and private universities and their branches in the 17 Departments.
“With this milestone, Paraguay takes a significant step in the promotion of sport and the comprehensive development of its youth, reaffirming its commitment to a more united and healthy society” highlights a report by the SND.
He added that the games “promise to be a memorable event that will inspire thousands of young people through sport and recreation.”
The university competition will be part of the SUMAR Plan and, with its national scope, will seek to take advantage of each sporting event to promote joint actions that support the objectives of the action plan once morest drug abuse.
“We are making an extraordinary effort in terms of budget, because we want young people to be protagonists and, within the framework of the Sumar plan, to turn the JUPY into a tool to eliminate the scourge of drug addiction,” said the Minister of the SND, César Ramírez.
