Cuban Post Office responds to claims of delays in shipments 2024-07-06 16:01:17

The Cuban Post Office has responded to the growing number of complaints received regarding delays in the courier service.

Users from different provinces have expressed their dissatisfaction due to the long waiting times for receiving their packages, as stated on the company’s official website.

Jorge Rodríguez, one of those affected, commented on the website: “Hi, my express courier shipment has been in the classifieds for 9 days and it hasn’t moved. How long does it take to be on its way to my province?”

The official response from Correos de Cuba to these concerns is clear and repetitive. In each case, the explanation is attributed to the shortage of fuel and the availability of transportation.

The Department of Public Assistance responded to Rodríguez on July 3: “The billing and transfer of shipments to their final destinations may take several days, since they depend on the availability of transportation and fuel for their completion.”

Cuban Post Office assures that delays in package delivery do not depend on its company

Zoe, another concerned user, story Your experience: “My package is already in the Havana office, waiting to be transferred to Cienfuegos. I went to the office here in my province today and they informed me that they have not received packages since June 1 due to transportation and fuel issues. How is it possible that no packages have been sent to their final destination for more than a month?”

To which the company responded: “Exactly, at this moment we are experiencing considerable delays in the transportation of shipments to their destinations due to the fuel shortage that the country is experiencing, a situation that does not depend on Correos de Cuba.”

Other customers in Cuba have raised similar issues, such as Dr. Rafael Angel, who expressed his frustration with the delay. According to this user, the package has been “classified in the CCI to be sent to the Holguin CCP since the 25th,” when before it only took 3 days to be sent.

In all these cases, the business group has maintained a uniform position: “Unfortunately, at this time we are experiencing considerable delays in the transportation of shipments to their destinations due to the fuel shortage that the country is experiencing, a situation that does not depend on Correos de Cuba.”
