On the occasion of the commemoration yesterday, July 5, of the 213th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence of Venezuela in 1811, in addition to the Day of the Venezuelan Navy and Soldier, civil, military and police authorities who work in the state of Aragua, carried out the corresponding protocol acts in the spaces of the Plaza Bolívar in Maracay, which consisted of placing ecological offerings before the imposing equestrian statue of the Father of the Country, Simón Bolívar.

The national anthem was sung very early in the morning, attended by the Secretary General of Government, G/D Pedro Luis Álvarez Bellorín, accompanied by a representative of that government body.

Also present were members of the Legislative Branch; for the Electoral Branch, Neira López and the Comptroller of the State of Aragua, César Otero Duno, as well as the Delegate Defender, Irene Sampedro Peláez, for the Moral Branch.

The speaker was General Yumar José Saldivia Gómez and the speaker was General Edgar del Valle Faria Ruiz. In his remarks, Saldivia highlighted the “extraordinary feat” carried out by the men and women of 1811, which defined the future of the nation.

“Today Venezuela remains intact in the ethical spirit inherited by our heroes, worthy soldiers who with determination, brilliance and gallantry paved the way for the tricolor to become a free and sovereign country,” he said.

This is why – he said – the Venezuelan Armed Forces, “fused with the people, ratified its anti-imperialist character, which is why it will never renounce its historical principles and its praiseworthy mission of preserving and defending this homeland once morest any threat.”
