NEW YORK. It will be Showtime in Detroit next season as well.

Last night, Patrick Kane signed a new one-year contract with the Red Wings, worth at least SEK 42 million.

It sounded for a while that the big fix star of the 2010s, Patrick Kane, following one season with the Detroit Red Wings, would step out onto the open market and maybe sign for the New York Rangers once more.

But late last night, just hours before Monday’s “free agency” opens, the news came that he agreed to a contract extension with the Michigan club.

Chance of a million bonus

The 35-year-old artist receives 4 million dollars in base salary – the equivalent of roughly 42 million kroner – for another year, but he can also receive another 2.5 million in bonuses, provided he accounts for a certain number of points.

Last fall, Kane underwent major hip surgery and therefore missed the first half of the season, but still managed to score 20 goals and play up to 27 in 50 games.
