Minister of ATR/Head of BPN Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (MI/Public Relations Document of the Ministry of ATR/BPN)

MINISTER of ATR/Head of the National Land Agency (BPN) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) stated that the data held by his ministry was not affected by the hacking of the temporary national data center (PDNS) 2 Surabaya.

AHY said that the ATR Ministry’s data has not been integrated with the PDN but is still stored in the ATR/BPN Ministry’s data and information center (Pusdatin).

“Because it has not been integrated, it seems that there is no one (who has been affected by the PDNS hack) specifically who has our data,” said AHY, quoted on Wednesday (3/7).

“For now, we have not integrated into the PDN system. We are still internal,” he added.

AHY also explained that his party is strengthening the Pusdatin owned by the Ministry of ATR/BPN to anticipate hacking.

AHY emphasized that the PDNS hacking is a valuable lesson for all government agencies, including the Ministry of ATR/BPN.

AHY reminded the ministry to help strengthen the existing system.

“We, ATR/BPN, should not just follow suit in digitalization but also focus more on what kind of security. Because this is people’s data, personal data that we must secure,” he said.

AHY explained that the Ministry of ATR/BPN will back up data at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) while waiting for the issuance of the ministry’s latest regulations.

In essence, said AHY, both central and regional governments can be integrated into data that can be accessed more easily by all parties.

“But digital security must also be built first. Earlier, the DPD RI also reminded us not to let the good intentions but because the security is not strong, it becomes a problem,” said AHY. (Z-1)
