107 People Die in Trample in India – 2024-07-05 21:43:05

As many as 107 people died in a stampede in the city of Hathras, Uttar Pradesh state, northern India, during a religious commemoration event, Tuesday (2/7).

The incident reportedly occurred following the preacher at a religious event known as Satsang finished delivering the speech and everyone left the place.

The dense crowds of people who attended allegedly made conditions at the location very crowded. That right triggered anxiety among participants. Moreover, during the event the weather conditions were hot and humid.

“They started running around creating chaos,” Uttar Pradesh police said.

“A huge crowd gathered at the location. There was no way out. Everyone fell and then there was a stampede. When I tried to get out, there was a motorbike parked blocking the road. Many people fainted, while others died,” said one witness.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his grief over the tragic incident and directed a thorough probe. (Ant/Z-11)
