Inaesin reported 30 labor disputes in July

  • According to the institute’s report, most of the complaints were registered in the Capital District, Aragua and Lara.

The Institute for Advanced Trade Union Studies (Inaesin) revealed on July 5 that during the second quarter of 2024, the Observatory of Labor Conflicts and Trade Union Management recorded 155 labor conflicts.

According to the report, 30 of the protests were recorded in the month of June, a decrease of 39 compared to May, when 69 were recorded.

Inaesin attributed the decrease in the number of complaints to the proximity of the presidential elections on July 28, due to the fact that workers supported the calls to form working groups for the electoral campaigns.

In the press release of the entity, they highlighted that the education sector was responsible for 50% of the protests in June.

This sector was followed by protests by health sector personnel with 10%, and in third place were workers in basic industries with 6.67%.

“Workers’ organizations continue to denounce the terrible conditions in which they provide their services, as well as the low salaries they receive, which prevent them from covering their basic needs, so they have to resort to other activities that help them compensate for their income,” said Inaesin.
