The energy supplier Wels Strom announced on Friday that it would “significantly reduce electricity prices on the regular date of January 1, 2025,” according to a press release. According to managing director Stefan Grassmann, customers should benefit from cheaper purchasing prices as early as autumn. Options are currently being examined as to how the lower market prices should be passed on to customers. The decision is expected to be made in the coming weeks.
The last price reductions occurred at the beginning of the year and in July 2023.
