The Court of Cassation has confirmed the life sentence for Giacomo Bozzoli, accused of murdering his uncle Mario and then throwing the body into the blast furnace of the family foundry. The murder, according to the reconstruction of the Carabinieri who investigated the case, occurred in Marcheno in the province of Brescia on 8 October 2015. The appeal rejected by the judges of the first criminal section of the Court of Cassation had been presented following the ruling of the Court of Assizes of Appeal of Brescia on 17 November 2023. In addition to the life sentence, Bozzoli was sentenced to the accessory penalty of daytime isolation for one year. But at the moment Bozzoli is untraceable: the man was not in his house on Lake Garda where he resides when the Carabinieri showed up at his door to take him to prison following the confirmation of the life sentence pronounced by the Court of Cassation. The search is ongoing.
