The amounts
Between 100 euros and 800 euros is the amount of the allowance that each beneficiary will receive. The maximum amount increases up to the amount of 1,000 euros for settlements with increased energy needs. To calculate the allowance, the so-called degree days are taken into account, which have to do with coldness indicators and energy consumption requirements for heating a building.
This allowance concerns purchases made of internal combustion heating oil, lighting oil (blue kerosene), natural gas, LPG, firewood, biomass (pellets) and thermal energy through district heating, provided that the beneficiary purchases the subsidized types of fuel up to and March 31, 2024. As an exception for firewood, purchases must have been made from June 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024. It is noted that each beneficiary is entitled to a subsidy for only one type of heating fuel.
The award criteria
In order to receive the allowance, citizens must meet the following income and property criteria:
The annual family income for a single member household is up to 16,000 euros and 24,000 euros for a couple plus 5,000 euros is for each child.
29,000 euros is the limit for a single-parent family. And an additional 5,000 euros will be for each child following the first.
For the first time this year, the total gross income of the household from business activity has been set as a criterion not to exceed the amount of 80,000 euros, in order to better target the beneficiaries.
The value of the immovable property (as calculated for the determination of the ENFIA) for widowed or separated debtors must not exceed 200,000 euros and 300,000 euros for married or cohabiting parties and single-parent families.

This bill is issued by the respective electricity supplier and the subsidy period begins in the first quarter of 2024.
