At 06:42 this morning (Tuesday) an official announcement was made by the Ichilov Hospital: The late Liora Argamani passed away following a long battle with cancer.

The late Liora spent her last days with her close family and her daughter Noa who was rescued last month from the Gaza Strip following 246 days of being held captive by Hamas.

Throughout the last eight months, Liora had difficulty speaking because of her serious illness. With her meager strength, she repeatedly asked for only one thing: to hug Noa.

“Time for me is life and death,” she said in an interview here 11. “I want to see her once more and talk to her once more. I don’t have much time in the world, I’m really begging.”

Liora became one of the prominent spokespeople for the families of the abductees and worked to promote their release, among other things through media appearances and meetings with political leaders.

The announcement of Liora’s death saddened many people in Israel and around the world. The only consolation is that Liora passed away following her last wish was fulfilled and Noa was by her side.
