About the composure and preparedness shown by the pilot of the Mirage 2000-5, who was forced to abandon it when the fighter’s braking system did not work in Tanagra, spoke the vice-captain e.a. Konstantinos Iatridis.
The pilot of the Mirage 2000-5 was forced to abandon it during taxiing at Tanagra Air Base at midday on Monday (1.7.24).
As per the protocol, he was transferred to the 251 General Aviation Hospital, for precautionary reasons.
Thanks to her cool movements and her proper training, the pilot of the 114th Fighter Wing managed to avoid the worst.
“During the landing, applying the brakes, it looks like a brake was stuck. And he did the prescribed procedure for the particular pilot to leave. When you go off the runway, the aircraft is likely to catch fire,” the vice-captain emphasized.
“This particular pilot made many mock shootings and there was fear and terror, as the Turks themselves said. It also participated in an international exercise in the Arab Emirates and received many congratulations and impressed him with its militancy”, underlined Mr. Iatridis.
