BERLIN/PARIS – German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has backed French President Emmanuel Macron ahead of a decisive round of parliamentary elections in France on Sunday. Scholz told a summer gathering of the Social Democratic Party’s parliamentary left in Berlin on Tuesday that he now sends daily text messages to Macron. “We’re talking about this situation and it’s really frustrating.”
