Highway Patrol announces that it will intensify controls to verify vehicle authorization

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Highway Patrol announced that controls will be intensified starting this Monday, July 1, throughout the country, in order to safeguard road safety and, above all, to control vehicle licenses, the renewal of which expired the day before.

This Sunday, June 30, was the deadline to renew municipal vehicle licenses in most municipalities in Paraguay.

In this context, the Highway Patrol confirmed that no extension will be granted for compliance with this requirement, and therefore considers it essential that all citizens become aware of the importance of this document.

To this end, the Highway Patrol officers will intensify controls starting July 1 throughout the country, in order to ensure road safety and compliance with established regulations.

Physical Carrying

One of the most important aspects to keep in mind is that the municipal permit is not included in the Portal Paraguay application, which is used to digitally store other documents such as the driver’s license, police ID card and green card. Therefore, it is essential that drivers physically carry this document in their vehicles.

The consequences of not complying with this regulation are severe. According to Article 106 of the Traffic and Road Safety Law 5.016/2.014, the fine for not carrying, lacking or having expired municipal authorization amounts to 5 minimum daily wages, which is equivalent to G. 538,135 (adjustment included). In addition, the vehicle will be detained until the situation is regularized.
