Nicolás Maduro confirmed that a tree fell on Delcy Rodríguez, along with some of the authorities and members of the communities in Cumanacoa this Tuesday.
During an activity, the Venezuelan president explained that: “She was very badly hit. “They stood under a mamón tree and a very strong wind blew down several trees and one fell on top of her.”
Maduro also indicated that he ordered Jorge Rodríguez to go to the place to assist her.
The mayor of the Montes municipality, Tomás Bello, was also reportedly injured in the incident. The victims were rushed to Cumaná to receive medical attention, local media reported.
According to a report by journalist Román Camacho, Rodríguez, along with Minister Ceballos and municipal authorities, were meeting with the community under a tree when a strong wind caused it to fall on them.
“They were taken to a medical centre where they are in stable condition. Minister Ceballos was hit in the head, and Rodriguez suffered a blow to the wrist and ankle,” Camacho said.
