The Swedish company IKEA has decided to return to Ukraine. This is reported by sources of Forbes Ukraine and Economic Truth.
Forbes Ukraine reports that the Swedish company IKEA has decided to return to Ukraine. This information was confirmed to the publication by four sources. Namely, two top managers of shopping centers and two commercial real estate consultants. According to Forbes Ukraine, the decision to resume operations in Ukraine was made by IKEA’s Swedish management in May.
The publication “Economichna pravda” also reports on the return of IKEA to Ukraine, referring to two sources in the market. Interlocutors of “Economic Truth” claim that technical preparations are currently underway. The date of the start of work is unknown.
After the full-scale invasion of Russia on February 24, 2022, IKEA ceased operations in Ukraine. Also, due to the full-scale invasion in Ukraine, the stores of the Swedish company H&M and the Spanish company Inditex were closed. H&M stores reopened in November 2023. Inditex returned to the Ukrainian market in April 2024. Zara, Zara Home, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, Bershka, Pull&Beаr, Stradivarius stores have reopened in Ukraine.
