House of Protection Releases Third Single – 2024-07-02 19:07:02

House of Protection(MI/HO)

THE latest project from Aric Improta and Stephen Harrison, House of Protection, has redefined the meaning of “starting fast.” Since the pair officially announced they were starting a new duo project and then dropped two singles, they’re back with a third, Being One, released on Red Bull Records.

A slight departure from their previous singles, with an upbeat drum and bass rhythm style layered with a fairly euphoric melody on this song, their latest single is more influenced by the electronic music genre.

Produced by former Bring Me The Horizon member Jordan Fish, this anthemic track is a sharp pivot from their previous single Learn to Forget.

However, despite its differences, this song is an example of their complexity as musicians and the energy their fans have come to expect from this project.

On the single, Improta explains, “Being One is a very different song from what we usually make. I’ve always liked playing drum and bass songs, so following I told them regarding my idea to use that musical element, Jordan and I immediately tried to find a rhythm idea that matched what I had in mind.”

“But ultimately, I felt like Steve’s vocals were what set it apart from the demos we had recorded before, and gave it a new dynamic. I imagined this song was made for people who were driving long distances at night. That’s something we talked regarding a lot when we were trying to write the lyrics for this song and even the video,” he continued.

The music video for Being One was directed by Kevin Garcia, who has also worked with Spiritbox, Bush, and Tinashe.

In terms of the production itself, the shooting of this video clip was done over the last few months, when Kevin tried to capture the moments of the band when they were in a unique location. Starting from showing them singing in the middle of the ocean, playing drums in a playground, all of these things are reminiscent of the frenetic scenes from the 1981 classic film Koyaanisqatsi.

Within 1 month, House of Protection has received a lot of positive praise from various media such as The Guardian, NME, Revolver, Rock Sound, Kerrang!, and many more. Now, they are preparing to undergo their first show in the form of a tour series this fall. (Z-1)
