CNN: Washington’s allies fear a Russian-Chinese move that would affect the United States if Biden withdraws

United States – CNN reported that US allies in NATO and Europe fear that Washington’s opponents, especially Russia and China, might sow discord in America if Joe Biden withdraws from the presidential race.

The American network indicated that the concerns among US allies following Biden’s speech in the debate with former US President Donald Trump are not related to whether Biden is able to make decisions – he is surrounded by rational people, and if the politician is re-elected, he will continue to make rational decisions.

“US allies, despite their concerns regarding the possibility of Trump returning to the White House, acknowledge this possibility, and the main concern here is that the United States is unable to provide stability in times of uncertainty,” she added.

According to CNN: “Diplomats fear that disqualifying a candidate so late in the election cycle might undermine the entire process, and might allow adversaries like China and Russia to criticize the American democratic system, making it appear weak compared to authoritarian regimes, where authoritarian rulers have a strong grip on power.”

The American media agree that Biden’s performance was weak in the first debate with his predecessor, Donald Trump, which took place on Friday evening in Atlanta, as the current US president stuttered and stopped frequently, and did not always formulate his thoughts clearly. At the end of the event, the television camera captured the moment when his wife, Jill Biden, helped him down the stairs.

After this debate, talk increased among politicians and journalists regarding the possibility that the Democrats would abandon Biden as a contender for the position and replace him with another candidate.

In theory, the party will have such an opportunity at its next convention in August, but in practice it will be difficult to remove Biden, who won the primaries, from the presidential race unless he himself refuses to participate.
