After a sunny and hot first holiday weekend, the beginning of July will be significantly colder and also rainier. The highest temperatures at the beginning of this week will not exceed 24 degrees Celsius, in the west of the country it will only be around 18 degrees. The sky will remain mostly cloudy, meteorologists expect frequent showers. Thunderstorms might appear today in the east of the country, then until the end of the week.
On the weekend extended by the Friday public holiday, cloudiness and precipitation are expected to decrease and temperatures will approach the tropical thirties, according to the weekly weather forecast of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ).
Today it will be cloudy to overcast, gradually appearing over the entire area showers or occasional rain, still some storms in the east. In the evening, precipitation and partly cloudiness should decrease from the west. Afternoon highs will range from 20 to 24 degreesin the west they will only stay around 18 degrees Celsius.
The night will also be cold Tuesday, temperatures will drop to eight degrees Celsius in the west. During the day, they rise to a maximum of 24 degrees, in the northwestern half of Bohemia to a maximum of 17 degrees. Even in Wednesday it will remain cloudy and cloudy with rain in most areas. Afternoon temperatures will not exceed in Bohemia 20 degreesin Moravia and Silesia will measure from 19 to 24 degrees.
Also in Thursday meteorologists expect cloudy skies and occasional showers, maximum temperatures may slightly exceed the summer limit 25 degreesbut in the west they will remain around 19 degrees.
About free Friday clouds and precipitation will start to decrease, the thermometer will show throughout the day 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. Showers or thunderstorms may occasionally appear during Saturday and Sunday, weekend temperatures will range from 24 to 29 degrees.
The tropical storm of the last few days and nights was ended on Sunday evening by strong storms with torrential rain, hail and gusts of wind, which mainly affected eastern Bohemia, Vysočina, Moravia and Silesia. Some smaller rivers rose to flood levels, in the south of Moravia, firefighters had to evacuate residents of several villages at night.
